AJE Freight Solutions is an LTL freight broker shipping less-than-truckload freight from Los Angeles to anywhere in the country. Get an LTL freight quote in under an hour, with no account and no contract required.
Send us the pickup and delivery ZIP codes, pallet count, weight, dimensions, and commodity, and we’ll return an all-in LTL shipping rate, usually within the hour. There’s no account to open and no contract to sign.
We compare LTL rates across multiple carriers on your lane rather than quoting from a single carrier’s tariff, so you’re seeing a competitive price rather than whichever one we happen to work with. If your shipment would be cheaper as a partial truckload, we’ll tell you that too.
LTL shipping rates depend on four things: distance, weight, freight class, and any accessorial services your shipment needs. Unlike a full truckload, there’s no flat rate for the truck — you’re charged for the space and handling your freight requires.
Freight class is the part that surprises people. It’s a rating from 50 to 500 set by the NMFTA based on density, stowability, handling, and liability. Dense, durable freight rates a low class and ships cheaply. Light, bulky, or fragile freight rates high and costs more per pound than its weight suggests.
Accessorials add to the base rate: liftgate service, residential delivery, inside delivery, limited access locations, and appointment scheduling all carry charges. We quote them upfront rather than letting them appear on an invoice weeks later.
LTL transit times depend on terminal routing rather than straight-line distance, because your freight moves through a hub-and-spoke network rather than driving direct. From Los Angeles, typical LTL transit runs two to three business days to Phoenix and Las Vegas, three to four to Denver and Dallas, four to six to Chicago and Houston, and five to eight to Atlanta, Miami, or the Northeast.
If those timelines don’t work, partial truckload and expedited both move direct with no terminal stops and cut several days off most lanes. Ask and we’ll quote all three.
LTL, or less-than-truckload, means your freight shares trailer space with shipments from other companies traveling the same direction. You pay only for the portion of the trailer you occupy, which makes it the cheapest way to move small shipments long distances.
Most LTL freight runs between one and six pallets, or roughly 150 to 15,000 pounds. A single pallet is a perfectly normal LTL shipment. Below about 150 pounds, parcel shipping is usually cheaper, and we’ll tell you when that’s the case.
The tradeoff is handling. Your pallets are loaded, sorted at terminals along the route, and reloaded before delivery, so LTL freight is touched several times. Palletize and shrink-wrap securely, and label every piece.
Below roughly six pallets or 5,000 pounds, LTL is almost always cheaper. Above that, partial truckload often wins on both price and speed, because partial pricing is based on the linear feet your freight occupies rather than freight class. A shipment of light, bulky pallets that rates a high LTL class can cost noticeably less as a partial.
Partial also moves direct. Your freight is loaded once and stays on the same truck to delivery, which means fewer opportunities for damage and transit closer to full truckload speed.
We quote LTL, partial, and full truckload side by side so you can compare rather than default to whichever mode you’ve always used. See our partial truckload page for more .
Yes. Liftgate service is available at pickup, delivery, or both, and is required anywhere without a loading dock — residences, small businesses, retail storefronts, construction sites, and storage facilities.
We also arrange residential pickup and delivery, inside delivery, limited access locations such as schools and military bases, appointment scheduling, and notify-before-delivery service. Flag what you need when you request a quote so the right equipment is dispatched the first time.
